An analysis of a certain fraction of Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) controlled vocabulary from the CS File shows a number of errors and inconsistencies. This leads to conclusions about the retrieval process, and more use of the basic index is recommended until the controlled vocabulary has been revised. (DB) |
